It's been a very busy 2 weeks, but Dad finally got to come home Thursday afternoon. It took a couple of days for the doctors to get his pacemaker dialed in - he had some problems with his heart rate falling too low while he slept, and they wanted to be sure that everything was okay before they released him. He is very positive about his recovery and seems more relaxed now that he is home. He is bummed out about not being able to drive for a while, but he knows that he will get stronger and better as the next couple of months come. The one thing that surprises him the most is the lack of strength and energy that he thinks he should have, but he knows not to push himself too far now for a while until he heals completely. The one thing he really wants to now is try to set off the metal detector at the airport -LOL (from the wire they use to close and hold the breastbone back together) - he has that kind of odd humor!?! I am so glad that the tests caught everything before he would have had the almost certain heart attack or stroke. It gives one a kind of eye-opener(even me at 37 yrs. old) about taking care of yourself and getting checked out, even though you think everything is alright. I know I will be paying more attention to what I eat and keeping in a little better shape. Thanks to all for the support in my other post - it's nice to have such great thoughts from all of my friends here!

Great News! Good to hear it. Tell Dad to take it easy, and relax a bit. He probably doesn't normally do that, I know my Dad doesn't relax. Get well quickly and my prayers continue for you and your family Dave. Take care. Tonja

Wonderful news! Tell dad to take it easy and behave, life is too short to push your luck.
