Great shots! Not easy with a digital camera and shutter lag.

What awesome pictures. That second one with its mouth open is National Geographic material. Great job on them.

All of them are great catches, but the one in the middle is fantastic!
What camera do you have?

Great Shots Dave! Lucky you. We have some nesting in this area, but have never gotten close enough to film.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! We are very fortunate to have so many nests in the area - The Eagles are migrating slowly inward from Lake Erie and up the rivers and streams. It is a testament to the fact that they are rebounding well.
Adrian - The camera that I used is an older Canon Power Shot Digital Elf S500. I bought it off of my wifes brother a couple of years ago. It is not the best, but it does have a 13x digital zoom lens and has the image stabilizing feature in the macro setting. I took about 12-15 pictures but most of them were fuzzy and blurry. These three pictures were the best, but there is still a bit of blur to them. Next time I plan on taking the tripod and mounting up for some better shots. I had to lean on the car to hold the camera still enough to get these shots.
Stefan - Since the birds are rather new here (in the last 5-7 years), everyone keeps close tabs on them. This particular nest is in someones backyard about 100 yards from their house and right off a busy highway along the Maumee River. I bet I drove past the spot 10 times a week for a year or more before someone at work mentioned that it was there. I was shocked and thrilled both to know that there was such a great spot for viewing them. It is far enough away not to disturb them, but close enough to see some great action.

Wow! Those are great pics. Baldies are pretty scarce out here. We have one at our center but she came from Alaska. Huge and beautiful birds but when you hold them they have a tendency to drool. I like Goldies better as they don't get ya all wet *L*....mel

Outstanding pictures! I have a new Powershot and I don't have that much faith in it that could do pics like that! Hope you don't mind, but I'm saving these pics to the hard drive! Terrific wallpaper! Sandy
