Am fine, a little heartsick over the devestation in Greensburg. I am familiar with the town, but had to use the impliment dealership on the west edge (in the areial footage) as a reference point to see about where other buildings used to be. Looks like a atomic bomb went off.
To add insult to injury another line went through there last night (not across, but followed the same line as Friday top to bottom) so small momentos that were not deystroyed before are now.

Greensburg was the hardest hit, people were asked to leave and they did, shelters were setup in nearby towns for those without some place to go.
I live about a hundred or so miles away, Robert a little further and north. Tami (Creativeminded) is the closest at maybe 40 or 50.
I am in Wichita for the weekend, and there has been a outpouring of support. Yesterday there were a few places to drop off supplies for the townspeople and the searchers, the one on the West side was packed with people bringing stuff in. The authorities are still going through the rubble looking for people (no one that was killed were found in thier homes but had been swept up into the tornado and carried off) so right now that is all anyone from the outside can do. Once let in though you can bet there will be a parade of trucks, backhoes, and manpower headed in to help.

Oh man, I didn't realize we had any members right in the path of the storms. Glad you guys are ok, I feel so bad for the people who lost everything.
Have I totally lost it? I have Robert's address as Texas, did he move and I don't know?

My sister is about a half hour south from Lawrence (where Robert lives), and besides a lot of rain, there wasn't any wild weather up there.
Ed, I'd take my chances with a tornado or hurricane any day. I know how to prepare for those. Earthquakes just happen! The destruction is just as total and sickening, but you can prepare and live for these Mother Nature's tempests.
I hope that hand-dug well survived. Isn't Greensburg one of the meteor hunting sites?

There was a news story from the area where the well is and it looked like the structure above ground was completely destroyed... none of the structures in that area survived except the grain towers... looked like a war zone...

Finally some good news. They found someone alive in the rubble this morning after laying out there for 2 1/2 days and through I can't count how many more storms.

Am here, we got some rain but not the 9 inches in one day like some areas. Not sure about your old stomping grounds though, but pretty good chance they are.

Glad you are ok. I heard on the news that the Gov of Kansas was calling the Capital to ask for help as a lot of National Guard and equipment is in Iraq. When asked Bush responding by saying he wasn't aware of any calls and tried to downplay the lack of a State's Guard not being available to help out in a State emergency.
