Ok, before I log off, I really like carnelian agate, in fact it's probably my favorite. Does anyone know where to get quality carnelian rough (for tumbling)? I do find occasional pieces here in NM - generally small, about pea-sized. I might have to resort to purchasing some rough. Thanks - S

Hey NMRocks,
Don't know what part of New Mexico you are from, but out near Deming at Bishops Peak, you can go rock hunting for some good carnelian agate. It's hard nowadays to find large pieces, but you can still find some smaller ones if you look hard enough. That's half the fun.

Once again, you guys are the best! The Rocknspots website is awesome - has anyone actually obtained rock through them? I wonder if you get what you see - I picked up a few small pieces of carnelian today, collected about 30 pounds of agate before it started raining again. S : )

Hey NMrocks,
I have dealt with Brian Costigan out of Castle Rock, Colorado. He might have some Carnelain rough for you ... he also sells on eBay as rockman69. You can contact him through eBay.
Hope this helps,
John

Stefan, I feel for you. I lived in Schenectady for 10 years. I lived in Chicago for 17 years. Moved to NM in 1979, and I haven't had to shovel snow in 26 years! If I get a hankering for snow, I head to the mountains and spend the day sliding around with little sticks attached to my feet. ;D As for pictures - tell me how to post photos and I'll get out the digicam tomorrow. OK - I did what you said, but you neglected to tell me how to "come back here and paste". Paste where? Technologically challenged - S

When you look at the buttons above the reply box, 4th in on bottom row, click on that little picture. It will put something that looks like this (without the spaces). [ img] URL[ /img] Take out URL and paste the link to your picture in there.
