It won't hurt your scanner Momma. As long as they're not too heavy. You might want to cover your rocks with a towel if your cover can't close

some scanners take nice pictures of physical objects, but others don't (particularly those with an LED lamp).
Are you able to fix your pictures with a photo software?

Not really sure alice. How do you do that? How do I make the pic. bigger? I put it in member photographs and it looks small.

Is that the size your scanner came out with? or was it bigger? It's possible that it was resized at the place you posted it up at. or you scanner settings are set to the smallest setting.

I have a digital scanner and use it all the time for my rocks. Just be careful of the glass and don't put rocks that are too heavy on it. Cher

Yeah. I dont think my husband would like for me to break his scanner. that would not be good. I was scanning earlier and my son came over and slammed the top on them. OHHHH boy I told him not to and I told him if he touched it I would pop him on the but. Well He got his pop on the butt and he was lucky he didnt break the glass. "sigh" of relief. Thank you for the info and next time keep son AWAY!! ha ha.

Your rough rock will put some tiny pits on the glass, however if you get some Ruler Grip you can cut it to size and lay it on the glass to protect it from your rock. You can find Ruler Grip in the quilting section of Wal-Mart or a hobby shop like Hobby Lobby. I use my paint program. If your paint program doesn't have an icon to "get pictures from scanner" then you can go directly to the scanner icon and scan your pictures into the computer, just make sure that they are saved as JPEG. It is a clear thick plastic that is used for the transparent rulers used in quilting. To get the picture to come out good, I use a white towel for dark colored stones and a piece of burgundy velveteen to cover the rocks when I scan them. To put them on photobucket you first need to be able to find your pictures on your computer. Set up an album on photobucket. You have a choice of either putting one photo on or more. If you have anymore question don't hesitate to ask we love to see pictures. Tami
