Hi all, I have a fair amount of this material and have not been able to identify it. I have found out that the black metallic stuff in it is magnetite. I don't know where it comes from. The different rock can have different patterns, but pretty consistent with varying shades of green, the black and some white. It is a soft stone with a hardness of about 4 or 5.

Boy very nice looking material but that's a new one to me. Here in California, in the foothills we have jade and serpentine associated with magnetite. Serpentine is in that hardness range but ours looks nothing like what you've pictured. Your examples look like they'd make spectacular cabs!....Mel

Wow that is stunning! Sorry I can't help with the ID though. Hope to see some pics of cabs with it.
