Guess it's nite owl time. I just got home a bit ago from babysitting the grandkids ... babysitting being a generic term, they are 9 and 12 so I'm just basically there to keep the peace. It's getting pretty tired out so I'm hoping to get to sleep soon.

Mark, my wife gets mad also, I check in here alot after midnight. Lucky for me we have 3 computers, and mine is here, in the bedroom, next to the bed, where she can keep an eye on me. She still complains though. All I have to say is "I gotta check to see if there's anything new in there". I'm back to work again for the season, so my late hours are done only on sat. nights.

nice to see you on the board again Mark, was beginning to wonder where you'd been. you sort of disappear for a while and then fly in for a quick blast late at night (all night?). so was she mad?
i just finished watching a DVD a friend sent us from Scotland, a BBC collection of episodes called "Little Britain", i laughed so hard i almost wet myself. have to watch it on the computer as it won't work in the regular DVD player for the TV.
so how is the woodworking "turning" out? congrats on finishing your software, hope it does make you some money.

Nobody ever died from lack of sleep that I know of. Sometimes, a sleepness night is one of the few times I get to just empty my mind and reflect. On those few times, I do not seem to lack the rest sleepness gives. Other times, when I fight it, if I do sleep, I feel like I slept in the car that night. Just tell her, going without sleep makes you a good husband. Remind her that you could be out with the boys but you stayed there. She will be relieved.

I go to bed at about 11:30, before my husband, but damned if I don't wake up at 4:30 AM. Ususally just as my hubby rolls all the way across the California king matress to snuggle within centimeters of my edge of the bed to saw logs in my ear!!! I've had to wake him up the last 2 nights to get him to roll over, last night he about came up swinging! Anyone have any advise? It's getting to be a really annoying habit. cookie

Wear a batting helmet to bed My husband used to flop and flail his arms around at night, he almost blacked my eye a few times. I would sleep with my arm over my face protecting it. Seems he would stop breathing in the middle of the night and did that unconciously to wake himself back up again to start breathing again. We took him to a doctor and it ended up he had sleep apnea. He has to use a breathing machine at night, but no more flailing!

One of my ex-wives got my hand, and put it in warm water. I woke up. I never forgot it, it never changed anything but the way I looked at her, and she finally left. There is always passing gas under the sheets, or getting an air horn and cutting it loose at the time of deepest sleep.

I agree, such loud snoring often is a sign of sleep apnea. That eventually cause brain damage and depression...check it out on the internet.
PS lack of sleep won't kill you, but it will make you psychotic. Then you can come stay with me at the psych center til you are better.

My son uses one of those machines, it's amazing what they will do for you. Wish I could get my hubby to use one, he stops breathing at night too. He's such a loud snorer that he wakes himself up.
Now I'm the one who stays up all night ...

I have an allergy problem so I snore a lot every night, but don't wake myself up. so I only wake my wife who goes and sleeps in the other bedroom and the little dog follows her

So did you get in trouble Mark? ;D
Must be something about computer programmers that are night owls, my hubby is the same, he will be happily be sat there coding away at 2 in the morning - I usually fall asleep on the couch and then moan at him when I wake and realise what time it is !

What is normal for one person is not always normal for another. Too many factors in "life in general" like shift work, kids etc. Mine is "normal" for me.
