Tried just using two wires this time instead of three. 21 GA. HH square with 22 Ga. HH round as the wrapping. Worked much better this time. Now, if I could get a good picture it would help. The back is flat or it would be reversable I am well pleased with the neatness. A question...Is that purple spot what they call a phantom? Thanks for looking. granpaw

Hey! That turned out really nice! I've never used 2 wires before...cool! I might give that a shot on those really thin cabs I have. ;D I don't know about the Phantom either...sorry.

Nice wrap Granpaw!
A phantom is where a crystal has grown over another crystal. You can see the smaller one inside the larger one. I've never seen one cabbed before, but yours does have that look to it.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I just can't get over how I missed seeing this "life style" all these years.

You got my curiosity up so I googled phantom amethyst and here is the website I found that explains it. www.rockhoundingar.com/quartz/phantom.htmlYes the purple in that particular cab is the phantom, however, if it was more purple than white the white would have been the phantom. Bye the way, beautiful cab, you are really getting the hang of it. Tami
