That's great ideas! I'm working on making a v shape wood wheel to polish inside the web of hearts. You do know they make hard felt knife egded wheels for polishing, right? Dr Joe .

Hi mircaba,
Looks good, just two questions...
1. How do you control the dust when using the 120 grit?
2. How is the bat secured to the spindle, or does it rotate on the spindle?

Looks like a new project will soon be in the works. I have a 1/8 HP 2 speed motor, an old maple baseball bat, and a brand new set of 1" pillow block bearings. And my brother in law has a wood lathe. I've thought about building a spool polisher. Just never got started on one. The motor is a dual shaft too, so I'll be able to put a polishing head on one end too.

Another thing that would make a good spindle is PVC round stock. It can be turned on a wood lathe, won't absorb water and swell or warp, and diamond grit will easily get imbedded in the surface. And PVC stock isn't overly expensive.
