Howdy all! I know, you thought I've dropped off the face of the wrapping earth, huh. I spent a bit of time last weekend entangled in wire. Then I decided to do something productive instead and came up with these two wraps: Red Jasper - from a piece of rough Kim left on the grab-me table at WWR: Picture Jasper - this is actually from a slab I won in one of deb193's virtual cabbing contests. I cut the piece I had originally pictured and tumbled it, but I have no idea where it's wandered off to. I decided for the rest to wait until I had a) purchased a cabbing machine and b) could actually produce a fairly decent cab. I need to dig through my tumbled pieces and see if I can find that original piece so I can redo it as a cab. All that to say:

Both very nice but I love the swirls on the red jasper, so that's my favorite! They add interest but don't detract from the stone. Great curves matching the outer edges, too. So even!

They are both beautifully wrapped, each of them in its own style.

Sweet wraps. I like them both but #1 really catches my eye. That swirl is cool. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who was wrapping while falling off the face of the earth. Steve

Thanks guys! I prefer the top one as well, but I know there are plenty of people who prefer the simpler wraps that don't hide the stone.
It was great using dead soft again. I screwed up my last few orders and had too much half hard around. I finally ran low enough on that to justify a new wire purchase...and this time I made sure it was dead soft!

While I usually like simpler wraps, I love the first one!!!! The prongs and such are perfect with the 2nd one...awesome!

I really like the "swerve" on the first one - neat and unique addition. I'd suggest anchoring it to the side frame. I had something like that catch on someones sweater and I needed to anchor it.
The second one is special too, I really love how the side wires whoop over and work with the prongs. Very neat and stylish.
I really like seeing your work - you always have something new and unique that you've added to your skillset.
