Hoowdy Folks, Here is my first try at wire wrapping. Its some sterling silver and 14k gold , the stone is some of the vermont stone that rockitman (Jim) sent to me. with flash without flash the next 2 are also from Jim but were wrapped by my roommate, again the first picture will be with flash and the second one with out flash I have since bought the correct plier set and will be trying this again when I get some time to play. My wife is starting to play with wire wrapping and she buys cheap wire at the hobby store to practice with. It's copper covered in tin (?) or something like that.
Just a thought...

Not bad for a first try, Wolf! Might want to turn that bail 90 deg, though. You might also get some brass to try. It's really cheap and slightly easier to work than the silver.

There's also artisitic wire you can find online in different gauges that you could try and save the real stuff for after you practice awhile. Look like you have a good start though it's a little hard to see detail in the pics.

I was gonna say you're pretty brave to use the real stuff for a first try! I practiced for a long time with the crapt wire - you're look very nice for a first try, second try or even a higher number try
Try to get some half round wire to do the bindings - they lay better

To twist a single piece you can use a pin vise. They're really cheap...I think mine was under $5. They're super easy to use...and fun!

Nice wraps I know quite a few people who buy copper wire from the hardware store... for practice or final pieces.
