Hey, Nancy, I read your hint about locking the bindings with a click, and it has made a world of difference for me. Many thanks for the great hint!!! My bindings still look awful, but now I have the confidence I'll get it one day. Before your hint I thought it would be around the end of time I've worked on two wraps since I read the hint yesterday, and I didn't throw either one against the wall while screaming, llike I usually do, lol. You are VERY welcome Tony! I can't imagine why noone has ever pointed that out before. When I give lessons in my home, my students always walk away being able to do great wraps. Anywho, I'm glad it has helped you.

I've never thought about that tip to hand out. I picked it up watching one of Preston Reuther's videos and just do it now. I guess I need to think about each step a little more...

There's a click when I close jump rings... but I've not encountered it in wrapping cabs.... hmm.

Geogoddess - I'm still trying to get the click when I close jump rings!

The thicker the gauge the easier it is to hear. And you have to get them really close in line, with no gap. The two chain maille bracelets I've done could hear it, that was in a class at a bead store, the instructor had to take a few of the rings off cause I screwed up, and she was having troubling finding the seam. Its quieter on the little tiny ones (4 mm) I use in earrings.

Yes, there is a click when you "set" your next wrap wire...when bringing the wire around, the wire should slightly lay across the wires on the other side...then when you "set" the wire...it will lock in place with a click right next to the previous wrap wire.
