This forum is very freindly with my inexpensive lap top w/high speed connect. It is probably not easy to tune for all types of user systems.

Can't figure out how to post a pic. since the "improvement" of the forum. Is there any way w/o going through a picture hosting site? I don't take many pics., and post very few, don't care to have to jump through a bunch more hoops.

In photobucket, select the "Direct Link" option next to your chosen photo and it will copy that link. Then, in this site, in the 'create post' window, click on the insert image icon which is near the end of the various options next to the email icon. Your picture should then appear. Hope that helps

Don't know about Dropbox, but some have tried Picasa in the past. What I remember is, you have to take the "s" off the http at the front (https:// change to http: / / ) That's what I remember, anyway. @shotgunner will tell you that Flickr is best, I use Photobucket with no problems.

I can adapt if I need to, just already had the other accounts and would prefer not to open more ( I know , free but still ) and keep having to remember what I left where, hahaha

Here is what maybe confusing for allot of photobucket users.. When you upload images to Photobucket.. they generate URL codes that one can use on pages like Rock Tumbling Hobby.. However, I've attempted to use this method and it never works. The work around is to simply right click on the image, Open the image alone in a separate browser window and copy the displayed Image URL within the bowser search slot (top of the page)Often what happens is if the URL in the slot doesn't end with JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, or BMP the image may not work when pasting in the "add image" command line or the ( ) picture window icon located in the lower tool tray. But here is the main issue.. We take for granted the "quick reply" option at the bottom of the page.. which one would have to be familiar with how coding works before hand.. Other wise it's best to click the "reply" option (right side of the text entry field) and may or add the images that way. Upon extremely rare occasions.. and this is odd.. I can right click an image, "copy" and open this widow and paste the image and it would come up.. And there is the strict coding or the BBCode entry mode.. and one would need to know a bit more about entering data and images using this method. Also, as a reminder and not sure this matters.. the system seem to auto adjust the size which is a good thing, some sites don't offer this on would see someone else image approx 10 x one monitor.. A bit distorted etc. And there is my personal favorite of simply making sure the image is centered.. this can be done by first entering the image data/code which could look like this if one was using the BBC system. [img src="http://images.proboards.com/v5/bbcode/image.png"][/img] The code above represents the picture icon above.. and in many cases the code would have to be closed or the page and image would be distorted. But once the code or image has been entered.. highlight or click drag your cursor over the image which will then turn blue indicating that it's been highlighted and then click the "Left, Center or Right" paragraphs alignment icons ( )

I haven't posted pics to a website in years and just wanted to test one to see if I remembered how to do it.

I used my photobucket account and copied and pasted the link using the attachment button when writing my post. You cannot use the "Post Quick Reply" button, but must use the blue "Reply" button to make your post.

Photobucket has gotten better lately, but for the most part I now use Pinterest. 1. I use Paint.net, a free image editing program. paint.net.amihotornot.com.au/2. On Pinterest I click on the + in the lower right hand corner, then Upload a pin. Next choose a photo from your computer. This opens your files to choose from It will ask for information about the image, the allow you to choose which of your boards to place it on. At any time you can click on any image and it will open up. USE THAT IMAGE! If you click on it again it will open to a larger version, but the url will fail. Right Clicking on the image will allow you to copy the url. Then paste it into an RTH location. I prefer to center the image, but do it your way. End of rant.
