Hey, All-
I apologize if this isn't exactly where this fits; it's not a question about wrapping per se, but it is about jewelry.
I have a small jewelry kit that came with my Thumbler's Model B. It has some keychains, necklaces, etc that all have a bell cap on them. There are no instructions whatsoever on how to use them or attach them to rocks. I've got a couple of smaller rocks that I'd like to make into something for my daughter, but don't have a clue what I'm doing. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!
Chris

Chris, you need to glue them to the bell cap. I use Hot Stuff in the green bottle.

Thanks so much, Dot! I figured that must be the cast but couldn't find anything that actually stated that.
I appreciate the info, and so will my daughter, I'm sure, once I get it done!

Hi Chris, Dot is right. Bikerrandy does that type of pendant by the dozens. I use Epoxy 330, I got it from Eloxite, I think.
Randy will first take the bell cap and shape it to the rock, then set it aside very carefully so the contours will still match up, then a drop (? how much) of glue on the rock, then set the bell cap carefully back on top the same way it was when you shaped it to the rock.
Voila!

Make sure the loop at the top of the bell cap is also lined up with the way you want the chain to run. I hadn't used bell caps in forever, and forgot to do that with the first batch I glued recently.

Thanks, everyone! Has anyone tried a surface insensitive Cyanoacrylate (super glue?) I have some industrial Loc-tite that I use for some wood and carbon applications and I'm wondering how well they will hold up over time. I tried one just to see and it seems to be fine so far. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Wal-mart Super Glue, but my concern would be the brittleness of super glues overall.
