Hi everyone, I made this cab from a Morissonite slab that I have from Tony - catmandewe, and then wrapped it in my groove style. front: back: and side: It's the first time when I work with morissonite, and I enjoyed it. Thanks again Tony for such great material! This is a surprise gift for someone, a friend of my mom. I hope she will like it. Thank you for looking, Adrian

Looks FANTASTIC, Adrian! The shine on that thing is unbelievable, and the wrap sits perfectly in the groove with a nice low profile that shows the entire stone.

Thanks a lot folks! John, really no big secret, no laser guided or such Just a thin diamond blade. I firstly draw the line on the midle of the thickness of the cab and then I cut it (not very deep, I like the wire to pop a litle out of the groove). Here's the link about it: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/?board=wwp&action=display&thread=22276&page=1Go to the 2nd page also to see some pics I'm sure you can do it, if you have the skill to do your fantastic edged cabs (by the way, I miss them) Adrian

I haven't tried this yet but think it would work for making the groove.Mount your Dremel/Foredom in the drill press for it or a universal type vise with the working end down.Use Adrian's method or similar to make a secure water container.Adjust the height so the cutter is at middle of the cab edge and feed the cab around. As to cutters, the wheel bits would work, especially the ones with a convex profile as this would make a "V" that the wire[esp. square wire] could lie in.Also, I'm going to try diamond slitter discs-with these you can stack more than one on the mandrel if you need a wider groove.I have done the last for small-scale carving so it's like a mini "super grinder". If you have curves that are too tight for this,I'll bet you could go back with some kind of straight bit and close the gaps.My two cents,Mike.
