What is the group policy on spam? I am in a number of news groups and over time they all devole in to nothing but spam. Did I forget to mention I'm not affiliated with grizzly.com in any way? Look at my post history. Do I appear to be a 3 post hit-and-run spammer or even not a rock hound? I was merely pointing out where to find a decent priced goody for make buffing wheels etc. This type off shaft can be hard to find for the average Joe. You could even make a rock saw with one. Follow the link and you might find out why I posted it.

I've taken a look at their web site before, specifically at their flex-shaft kits for wood workers thinking it might be a reasonable - ie, less expensive - substitute for a Foredom. I've also heard a lot of good things about the service there as well.

chad i aint looked in a while....but lortone actually had stuff for about $220 that wasnt a bad deal cause it had gaurds and the works to complete it...minus motor. but...its probably asian also....cant be sure about that though ;D. as far as american made....i aint got a clue...i dont actually think so nowadays. heres a story for ya.....about steel....well really stainless steel....i quoted a job for $39,000 48 days ago....quote had a 4 day confirmation on it.......company issued a me a P.O. today for $39,000........i had to immediatly call and tell them.....that that qoute was 48 days old.....and i had to double check the prices....as per the 4 day price quote i sent. that $39,000 quote is now....$51,000....its sad....and that $51,000 quote is only good for 48 hours...thats a huge jump in stainless prices in 40 days or so. but anyway....the stainless has to come from asia ...kev.

Arbors are hard to find. I ended up making mine from shafts from McMaster_Carr and a couple Pillow Block bearings. Always a pain in the kester to thread them if you don't buy the pre-threaded shafts.
Great find, I already have plans for a couple of them.

Seems like a good catalog. Cheapest I have seen Opticon, and the Pro-slicer blade is $4 less than the last one I bought.

I have also been looking for shafts the past couple weeks to build an arbor. I found this place here while searching for threaded rods www.truckspring.com/suspension-parts/threaded-rod.aspx I have no idea what all the grade stuff means, but the prices seem okay for what I understand to be needed. I was planning on that McMaster Carr place tho, maybe Grainger. Both of which I found through lurking on this board lol. Thought I'd throw in a link for rods since they can be a pain to find.

Half of my boat shop is equipped with Grizzly tools. They are Asian made, but Grizzly has a quality control group that keeps a good eye on production, and they stand behind what they sell. I have never had a problem with any tool I have have had from them. Woody
