From "Rose" to my response..."What has that got to do with Bush and the mess he has made, just because there is a history of bad foreign policy doesn't excuse what Bush and his cronies have done."
I agree with you...so by your own words "just because there is a history of bad foreign policy" I say lets move on because what's done is done...
Now, who do you trust to change our need for oil and other good we as a nation demand so we can continue to living in our "all for me" society...?
Our 30 years of history of making our nation self sufficient is pathetic and anything we do today to begin turning it around, whether wind, oil, new electric power dams, solar will take at least 12 years... hey, changing a light bulb is good...but it does not keep AL Gore from jet setting world wide...and the movie stars owning 3 energy sucking homes...
Think how much fuel alone was used to jet set everyone (including press people) on this crazy campaign...then they tell us to "just suck it up...and change "YOUR" ways...

Sandsman sayeth about Obama...do you really think he has a chance against a war hero
Gee ... let's go back to the last election...A multi decorated war hero(Kerry) vs a guy who went AWOL from the National Guard(Bush)...did the war hero win...no...to some people being a war hero only counts when they are Republicans. csroc

Friends can discuss these things and stay friends, I hope. It's just opinions and I appreciate reading everyones point of view. I have to agree with trouble. The oil that came from Iraq can be replaced with a few rigs around our own country and at a net profit to the federal government. However, if Iran or some war lord conquered Iraq those oil profits would likely be funding some major weaponry. Fighting for the oil itself doesn't do anything for the US, but keeping it out of the hands of war lords helps the free world. I believe much of this "Bush lied!" stuff is political play with hind sight. I just can't recall any senator, congressman or governments of other countries saying this Before moving on Iraq. I know some voted against invading Iraq, but it wasn't because they knew Iraq didn't have WMD. They either refuse to stand in defence of others or they supported Saddam.

yea hell im not gettin mad im just sayin what i feel and what i believe out of all the bull thats on tv and radio
first thing i say is what you see on tv if your lucky is 10% the truth cause just by watchin dif shows i can see who they like and dont like just by what side they bash --- thats one of the reasons im not dem or rep there both full of bull and will say anything to be in power the part that gets me is they act like what they did acouple years ago should be forgotten when its there record that should count the most --- if bill didnt become prez im bettin him and hillery would have done jail time over all the stuff they where into with the loan scams and im sure bush has some skeletons hagin around two like his militery record -- if it was a perfect world none of these guys/ gals would have ever been aloud to run with there record but i guess money talks and you can even buy your way to the top of the American gov.

My guy Thompson basically pulled some sort of Ross Perot crap or whatever so I'm forced to go with McCain. I appreciate his sevice and war record and what happened to him but some of his policies I just can't abide. Him and Bush both are clueless when it comes to the border.
The funniest thing is, you don't and won't hear a damn thing coming out of ANY of the candidates mouth regarding the BORDER WAR that's happening RIGHT NOW at the Texas/Mexican border. Beheadings, murders, hit lists, policeman and women and innocent civilians kidnapped and killed.
I do believe I read that more have died in this war with the drug cartels than in Iraq (the 4000 +). I think like 6000 people have died.
It's the 12,000 pound Elephant sitting in the middle of the room that nobody wants to talk about.

yea if ya notice they got rid of anyone that was gonna do something about the border and the tax money draining illegals -- and they wanna know why our Seniors cant buy food and meds in the same month -- id say its all because of the free loaders that have never paid dollar one in tax's sucking welfare and social security dry -- hell if i was a mexican id come here too cause us fools will pay for them to live free, eat free, free meds, free school , free housing -- but they cant fig why we are in a recession

This country’s had its day in the sun.
We’ve screwed it up beyond repair.
It’s all downhill from here.
Get used to it.

The death toll of this illegal war is only 4000 people ?? I see only the deaths of our people count right? What about the ten of thousands of Iraqi civilians men, women and children who just happened to live there, they don't count eh, just collateral damage I suppose.A horrible fact of war. A very sad and awful fact of war. Regarding my feelings about the worth of one human over another, I'll simply say this. In a time of war, I count the life of an American soldier much, much many many times more valuable than the "enemy's". You bet your bleeding heart I do. ;D

Iran, our enemy, certainly realizes how "bad" it would be for them to have the US military next door. They've been sweating bullets since we've been there and now, as I predicted long ago, the news that we want to set up bases there has them in an uproar and they are now demanding that Iraq not sign any pact with the US. LOL! Screw you Iran you crazy freaks. afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5j0BRrQ53Mwc3GdhGvuu_mMQs3LHQ

I stay out of political discussions for the most part even though I'm VERY opinionated. I disagree with as many statements above as I agree with. I would like to toss in a quote to add to the discussion. Lets see if any of you liberal media koolaid drinkers (whoops! I've tipped my hand! hehehe) knows who said it.
"Why wouldn't we go to war for oil? We NEED oil"

This war has caused most of the oil problems in the world. Iraq used to pump 3.5 Million barrels of oil every day and now it produces next to nothing. This fool may have went to war to secure oil for this country but everything he does turns to shit. And like the oil man he is, and the patriot he isn't, he will do nothing to help the problem except blame someone else. csroc

The 3.5 million barrels per day was produced in 1990-1991, prior to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. Iraq's export as of 2002 was averaging 2.02 million barrels per day. Iraq's 2008 oil export average is 1.92 million barrels per day. The information comes from Dow Jones. When you want to know how much of something is being produced just ask the people that are buying it. You don't drop $192,000,000 a day with out accounting for it.
