What kind of oil do I use for my Genie. It says I should put in a few drops of oil every week if I use it alot. Where can I get it?

Something light like a drip oil. Standard 3M would work.

The oil is for the pump leathers. You don't need to add until you notice the pump not pumping like new. Any light weight oil works fine. The motor is sealed and doesn't require any maintenance. If you have hard water and not cutting for a while remove the geysers and blow out th holes. Mine plug up and I have to clean out the hole with a small wire.

I only use mine on weekends and have oiled the pump leathers only once in a year of use. I ruined the leather on a pump Coleman stove by oiling too much. It became soggy and would not pump pressure into the tank. I think they work pretty much the same way. As John said I do have to blow out the geysers and sometimes use a wire to clean them. Oh yeah, I just used 3 in 1 oil.

Facing the unit take off the left cover. There will be 5 screws. The 2 on the lower left should be painted red. (At least mine are) Remove those, add a couple of drops and you're set. The sticker on mine says use 30wt oil but I went with 3 in 1

my manual recommends oiling after 40 hours of use, i put a drop into each red screw hole every few months.
