Ok - howdy all - Scorcher over here at the mo - so getting some sun in the back garden.
Posting rights for Guests have been temporarily suspended.
Lets see how we go.
Not really a massive deal - just give it a go and see the result.
All is smooth.
Oh no - People who arent logged in cant even SEE THE BOARDS.
There is no setting for allowing people to read but not post - its all or nothing.
I think you guys will agree with me here that we cant have surfers not even being allowed to read the board until they join?
I turned it back to how it was for the mo.
Mark.

Thanks Mark, it will be pleasant to settle back down with no more problems so we can just enjoy the board .
Beer and BBQ ... sounds good. We (hubby and I) had a fire in the backyard pit last night. Enjoyed a few beers and some fine cooking over the fire at the end of the evening or was that in the early hours of the morning. Yeah, that's it .. about 2 am. ;D
Enjoy your day (evening), not quite sure the hours difference from here to there. We're GMT -5, what are you?

"...I've got the pig in the ground, I've got the beer on ice. All my rowdy friends are coming over tonight!...." Barbequed pork, ice cold beer and Hank Williams Jr., it doesn't get any better than that! Ron

Rosebud - im in the UK so Im GMT -Zero Maybe it was the beer I had to chink - ("Im -5 GMT what are you?) - I thought you knew I was in the UK so well ..... Great stuff. Yup theres some bans on using hoses down south -- Im hoping for a ban up north as thats a sign of the weather being hot for certain. Sounds like Michigans sorted - EXCELLENT DUDES - totally Excellent. My father Inlaw (Richard) is just back from a holiday in Italy - he went to Mt Vesuvious (I cant spell this late). Hes got me some serious rocks - not for polishing but probably Sulphour, Basalt etc... I cant wait to see it. Hes got prostate cancer and in for radiotherapy soon - so I aint pushing him for some rocks. I cant believe someone with prostate cancer in the NECK, ARMS, LEGS SPINE is after looking for rocks for me when hes on effing holiday. I cant even imagine what his bone scan looks like. But there we go - lifes a bitch - Id like to do something for him (as obviously my Wifes father is important to me) - but I cannot do jack shit.. Mark. (Heres hoping one day Ill be more settled - I hope you guys are already).

Rosebud - im in the UK so Im GMT -Zero Maybe it was the beer I had to chink - ("Im -5 GMT what are you?) - I thought you knew I was in the UK so well ..... DOH! Ok, I knew that .... duh .... can I use that excuse too? I mean, maybe it's just a prolonged effect from the beer I had last night. ;D Maybe I should have another one, clear my mind ... hahaha Hey, sorry for your father in law, my father in law had that too about 12 years ago, fortunately they caught his early on. I guess in his condition, if he wants to pick rocks for you ... it must make him happy to do that. You can do jack shit for him, show him how much you like those rocks. Do something with them to show him how cool you think they are ... that will make him feel really good. Nothing in the world like having someone give you something that you make into something special. Have another beer and think on it, you'll come up with something. Cher

Hi Doc - nothing went wrong - Someone started calling people names. There is nothing wrong with that - except its boring. Now I dont mind fun, infact I luv it big style - but when things get boring they can piss off. I think I know that people on here can defend themselves, because I KNOW that people who polish rocks have a brain. Because if you dont have a brain - you cannot see the difference between smooth and rough. At a microscopic level - and without a microscope. The THING IS - that people who roll rocks - cant be arsed with crap arguments. I generally find that People who TUMBLE ROCKS have already been polished themselves. This means that those who polish rock are generally - a) Friendly b) Wise c) CARING d) Open Minded e) Most importanly - still making sure that abcd are still growing. If there is a rough spot, the 80 will get rid. I dont think you missed a single thing Doc. Mark

I agree. The few times folks have bounced off the wall, at least I am excempt, it does indeed seem to just die down. It does indeed seem, Mark, that you have had the Floyd descend to you. That is a good thing. Even though you are tormented by the electricals, the Floyd can balance and bring forth. This forum is a good one. How many times have I pondered, if I was capable of even beginning such a thing as this, how would I do. Of course if I could begin such a thing, things would have gone smoothly. Fortunately, reality is not here for the proof. You have done real well. I am glad to have been a small part of an ongoing process. My tumbler is in Los Angeles, I am in Floriduh, my shop is progressing at a speed I was unable to concieve. I am doing repairs and making things I never thought I could at a speed I can barely handle. I hope in the heat over there, you have some brewskis, lots of burned barbeque delectibles, friends, smiles at our quandries, and a few hmmmms. I hope you enjoy the space this forum has provided for us. It was not by our hands. I appreciate everything you have done. Even though you are in league with the electricals. You cannot help that, only a few escape and or them, life is tough. You done good.

I heard many times that in relationships we just rub together until we all get our sharp edges smoothed off, like pebbles in a stream.

Just a comment, Mark, it is now almost 3AM CDT and there are 5 guests and 1 member (guess who) on the board right now. I still believe we should not fix what ain't broke, make it easy for new folks to post and they usually sign up anyhow. Having to sign up to post on boards frequently deters me. You have to give an email address -- I have obscure ones I can use rather than my personal one -- and any time you sign up for something you risk the deluge of spam emails, so it has to really matter to me or I won't bother. If guests post and receive positive responses, they will be more likely to sign up. JMO.

Oh my head!!!! Ouch. Puppie - its a case of a trial run - i'd like to have things open too (I think??). Just a shame that here and there we attract the odd strange individual. Give it a month or so - thats what Im thinking along the lines of. Its "Fathers Day" over here today - I fear it may be Richards last one. I fear he KNOWS that aswell. Im hoping he pops over to see us - but in anycase Debs has gone down there this morning. Doc - the electricals didnt get me yet - Im not in league with them - Im SURE!!! But I am watching out - just in case they show up and try to fry my brain anymore than yesterdays beer and BBQ did already Oh me head!! Tablets me thinks.

Mark,
Sorry to hear about your Father-in-law's cancer. BEing diagnosed with a terminal illness is hard, very hard. From my own experience though I think it's tougher on those around you, and made tougher on you because of their pain. Believe me - if he wants to think of you and bring rocks, it's his way of trying to ease your pain. Just as you'd do for him if you could. I'd do that for him if I could...
In the larger view, life is a terminal illness - It's just that some of us get to learn a little more clearly when our ticket will be punched. I wish for your Falthe-in-law to have as little pain as possible, and to enjoy every second he has left.
Thanks for hosting the board!
Jeff

Mark, the Electricals are subtle. The more sure you are that they do not have you, and you relax, the deeper they go into your inner being. The tablets are what the Electricals use to keep people subdued, and under social control. Beware the tablets also. They keep you from seeing the Electricals moving around behind the walls and going through the wiring. Watch out, they almost have you completely. I hope you do not find out too late. Jenne and I get to remake jewelery from folks here that are diagnosed with cancer for their grandchildren, or their children. It is sad. OF the few we got to know, for the most part they passed quickly. They would show up with pendants, rings, earrings, and want us to make rings, earrings, bracelets. They would want us to break up one piece and make identical different pieces. It was hard to go through. I hope, when you need us, we can be there for you as most of us have been there for each other. We will be thinking of all of you guys there. It is a tough thing, especially to know up front. That must be torture. We had a customer who was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. She had double masectomy and chemo. Her body rejected her chemo. She went to another Oncologist and he ran tests and found no cancer cells or antibodies. The conclusion. She did not have cancer! Her insurance did not pay for the claim as it was unneccesary surgery. In this state, she cannot sue for malpractice untill the bill is paid in full and there is a two year limit on the time to sue. When it is my time. Keep me from the Drs! I want to go in one piece doing the man thing. The Drs are agents of the Electricals and here, they keep the old living waaaay past their credibility. Good luck to you guys. It is a tough time and I hope it fares well. Carpe Diem!
