I have been trying to get her to get a job this summer since she is now 16 but she has told me, "I don't want to work, I want to have fun this summer" So I says, " Don't ask for money for the pool, movies, clothes or anything else" I guess it worked, last week she had two offers, one at Arby's and then at McDonalds. As you can see she choose McDonalds. Don't those uniforms make a cute kid look goofy? ![](http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g152/earthdog3/stuff/IMG_1747.jpg) ![](http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g152/earthdog3/stuff/IMG_1749.jpg)

Hey, good for her! On the way to financial wizardry. The first step is the hardest. On a down note. I have a resentment on McDonalds. I used to go to this drive in theater. I brought my sweetheart to Easy Rider! I got my first Hicky there during the movie. It became my shrine. Of course we broke up as young couples do, but, I had my first hicky memories memorialized. We even broke into the drive in the next week, and carved our event in the wooden uprights. I had this most awsome 1938 Pontiac Coupe straight 8 that I had restored pending coming of age. Of course I did have an accident, but that was later. At any rate, one day I was driving past my shrine, and Plastic Ronald McDonald was sitting on top of the very area I got my first hicky!!! I was crushed, and still am to this day. I was ruined for life. It was worse than waking up from a drunk, a serious drunk, next to this ugly thing who asks if I meant all those things I said last night. My first hicky is under Plastic Ronald McDonald's butt. My life ended that day. I became a shadow, without purpose, not even a memory. Alas, woe is me. Great for your daughter. My personal resentment does not interfere with my wishing her the absolute best. Hands down best. From there, the world is her oyster. Good Luck Kiddo!!!!

i worked for my dad since i was about 7 or 8. i masked cars, i swept floors, i painted signs, i did whatever he told me to do and he gave me an "allowance". i never helped my mother (she didn't pay at all!)
i got my first job as a fire alarm sales person/installer. it sucked. i worked hard all my adult life.
hope your daughter learns that she has to succeed and excell to be a happier bunny.
good luck Echick!

looking goofy....maybe after you mention it...it does a little ;D....but you can let her know....when a lot of us see uniforms on folks...whether mcdonalds....or a trash company....they get a small amount of respect immediately....even more so if they are in school also....kev.

Ah, now that is a face that realizes she is on her way to financial freedom. Soon will come the time that she asks if she can have something (asking only out of respect for you) and when you say no, for what ever reason, she will buy it anyway cause it's her money. lol j/k.
Good for her!
