I was hounding yesterday along the RR tracks here in Robstown and came across what I thought was a quartz ball. On further inspection, with my readers on, the ball had structures that reminded me of coral. You can see the tubular features seem hexagonal. I think the tubes have a different hardness than their contents so I won't tumble. I'd appreciate help ID'ing this ball. Thanks IMG]http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp254/carloscinco/ID%20this%20rock/Laborday08019.jpg[/IMG] I picked up a few agates yesterday as well. The one in the back looks more like jasper with chalcedony knots in it.

It looks like coral to me, but I'm no expert. It's a beautiful piece & you must have been thrilled to find it.
