This may be wrong place for this, but want opinions. A friend of mine in Missouri bought a machine he thought he might be able to use to sharpen knives and things, but got it home and didnt know how to use it. We happened to be talking on the phone and he described it to me, I thought that is a cab machine. Turns out it is a Ringleader Cab machine made by Crystalite. He gave $10 for it, he said if I wanted I could have it for $10. Now here is the question, I am going to Tennessee the 9th, do you think it worth a 6 hour trip to Missouri and then from there back to MI, to pick it up. It seems in perfect condition, he says it has everything on it like the picture I sent him, and it runs and turns perfect. Opinions please. Terry

Hey Terry, that is one of those once in a lifetime deals, go for it. Stay and visit with your friend, and get a great deal on a cabbing machine, well worth the time spent driving.

Star, he also has everything included in the option package, another $300 or so. Stoner, those are my thoughts also. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this unit or brand. Terry

I don't know anything about that particular machine, but Crystalite is a great brand from what I've heard. I've never been able to afford their prices, though!
It really is a great deal. The machine looks nice and compact. I'd probably see about switching out the 600 grit diamond wheel for something a little rougher or an expando. That's a strange combination - hard wheel, paste in lower grits, up to another hard wheel, and then paste in higher grits as well.

Well considering the fact that I thought I could never afford any cabbing machine, I will just have to count on reading instructions, and of course help from you guys on how to best use this one. I have never even seen a cabbing machine, know nothing about steps. As some of you know I use a WF (which I will still use), a bench grinder and a Dremel to cut my shapes, and the only way I have to polish is the tumbler, so I hope I can do more and better with this machine. I also hope to polish one face on a bigger rock, sawed in two halves. Terry
