Well, I worked on them throughout the week, an hour or so each night, one belt at a time! (an exercise in patience I'll tell you)
I did manage to get a decent shine on them, that I'm proud of cuz I'd been having problems with scratches lately (either I'm getting pickier or I'm getting better and don't accept scratches anymore...)
This is a piece of zebra agate that Randy sent me a loooOOOng time ago, the slab was in my drawer at the office, I would wet it once in a while and watch it turn from white to pink - it's like cameleon zebra
This stuff is unknown - It bled black but shined up like hematite, - was told it might be magnetite - it's very heavy and shinier than anything I ever saw
Imperial jasper, I love this stuff to death, it shines up beautifully, but I have yet to find a piece that doesn't have some sort of fracture to mess up my cab (they weren't there when I started)
Amethyst lace(?) it looks like Amethyst with a ribbon of pink lace
rainbow obsidian (I can't photograph this stuff)
two small pieces of lapis - broke off the main slab - this stuff is very soft, takes a decent shine - wanted to make earrings but they're not quite matched... This is my daughter,s favorite material - apart from sodalite - I'll try to get them wrapped for her birthday in two weeks
Mookaite - I love this stuff - this one was a re-do
two montana agates - love the shine on these & the pattern on the left just ends - interesting
bloodstone - fractures like imperial - same problem for me - fractues appear out of nowhere...
this is from the tiny slag glass slab - wanted to make two pieces, but ended up with one large piece - hubby & son's favorite piece
this is one of the slabs that was born en route from KD's - it looks like a piece from Kim though - didn't think it would shine but it did
I'm gonna say it's brazilian but I know I'm wrong again - I can't remember what it,s called *brain fart*
this is an unknown - you can see through some parts and it took a nice shine
Thanks for looking
