Hello, everyone! These days I was working at a belt buckle. It's not ready yet, but I'd like to share with you some pics: The materials: The cab, which has the shape of Nebraska (the place where the belt will go, to Tom - Karen's husband) Some metal work: And the almost finished pieces: You can notice that I couldn't match perfectly the eastern border of the cab with the metal plate which surrounds it (if Karen and Tom lived in Colorado, my task would had been much more simple ;D ). I plan to crush some pieces of stone, mix the powder with some epoxy and fill the gaps with that mixture. Thanks for looking, To be continued, Adrian

Is that not the coolest Nebraska thing EVER? Adrian tried to match the stone as closely as he could to my elusive Nebraska Blue Agate. And wow, talk about a lot of work in the process! Tom is going to flip! Shhh, don't tell him! Karen

That is great, Adrian. That trick with epoxy and crushed stone should work just fine. You just need to let the epoxy to dry enough. Then you'll be able to polish it just fine. I expect to see you silver-smithing very soon. You definitely have the talent. Zoran

Hi again! It's ready! Here it is: Here is the back. You can see the two rivets that are invisible on the front. In fact the rivets were firstly welded on the plate, then I grinded the welding until it was leveled. I'm not 100 per cent happy with it, the stainless steel is pretty tough and hard to work. Karen I still hope Tom will enjoy it , at least a bit. Thanks for looking, Adrian

That's a great looking belt. The color of the stainless steel almost looks bronzy. Did it come that color? I think of stainless steel to be a silver or silver gray color. You did a great job on that.

Yea Adrian I sure can see where you are not 100% happy. After all you did use some "HIGH TECH" machining tools to make it. ;D ;D ;D
Are you NUTS? That is one GREAT job. You sure have talent. If you didn't show how you do some of the things you do a person would think you had all the high tech tools to make the things you make. You don't, so that makes it even better. Be PROUD! It is a fine looking buckle...........MrP

Thanks for encouranging me folks, yes maybe I'm too harsh to myself but ain't this the way to do better things, LOL ?
Lori, that bronzy look is the "contribution" of my camera when it encounters bulb light, LOL. The look is silver, I think the most true colors you can see are in the firts two pics from the first post.
