Here are the ones I've been working on for the past week. An idontknowite that I got from connrock. It was very soft. The picture doesn't do it justice. Unknown brecciated agate. I'm not sure where I got this one or what it is. Pretty though and it took a really nice shine. Tube agate? Another that I don't know. Looks like the orbs were agate tubes that eventually filled in. Its a big one for me measuring about 1 3/4" point to point. Sapphire. At least that's what it was sold to me as. I bought it about 1 1/2 years ago when I got into tumbling. I'm not sure its sapphire though as its pretty darn soft. It might have had a star in it but its fibrous texture was pretty porous. Ruby in zoiste. This one has a chatoyance when the light hits it at the right angle. Pet wood. I just went with the shape of the shard I made this cab from. I didn't realize until I was done that its a knife blade shape. Mahogany obsidian. I got this from the rock-n-the-cache-box this year. I had lots of this material but none of it had this much red in it. The red has a real thread like appearance. Kona dolomite. I've been seeing this around a lot lately. Don't know if its a new find or not. The shine I got is just so so. Last but hardly least is biggs picture jasper. This one is my favorite of the bunch. It really shined up well.

Tony, you did some amazing cabs! The light green brecciated, the orbicular, the mahohany obsidian and the Biggs are my favorites. That Biggs is pure perfection, that oval looks perfect and the pattern is a beauty.

Tony.... the maybe tube is great. I like the shape. The wood and the obsidian would have been my favorites but for that Biggs. Amazingly nice biggs! If it is soft it is no sapphire! I bought a bunch of mine run when I got into tumbling and I was using it for grinding media as it was so hard it would grind quartz and not get smaller. I finally quit using it for filler after a year when it was starting to shrink. Sapphire and ruby are hard... really hard... all the way through Tony

Supper cabs there Tony. I believe the first cab (idontknowite) looks like Sonora Sunrise.
