Was in my garage this afternoon giving it a clean out when I heard this small voice shouting 'Use me, Use Me.' It was then I saw a piece of Golden Tiger Eye looking up at me from the floor. This is the piece: I was going to smash it on the head with a hammer then throw it in the tumbler with others bits, but it started crying and talking to me, telling me it deserved better. So two hours later I ended up with this: I don't know how I ended up with that shape, the stone was just telling me where to cut and grind all the time. Will it work? Will it polish up ok? I'll have to wait until I get a new load ready 'till I find out.

The shape is very creative, the side view is looking so good! I think it will polish well, including the concave area which is not so deep related to the surrounding. I think it would be even more interesting if that side shape (with concavity) would also be on the front view shape of the cab, but this requires a very solid material as the cab would become very thin at the top. So I think you found the perfect shape for that tiger eye, I can't wait to see it finished. Go polish it, I can hear it screaming "Polish me, polish me!" from here ;D

Early-on, a wise old man taught me that proper cabbing is only achieved when you form a cab the way that it wants to be formed. Since that's what you did, you did right.
I like it. It reminds me of a 3D paisley. Shine 'er up!

You did good listening to the rock. Even as a wrapper, if I don't listen to the rock, I end up with tangled up wire good only for scrap. I bet it ends up with a brillant shine!

Congratulations!!!
Some people wait their whole lives for the moment you are experiencing!
Yes the rocks do talk to us and tell us were to cut and polish, it's just that some don't or won't admit that it's not them "creating" .
I learned and old saying when I started this mess..."God put it here we just cleaned it up".
Once you've given yourself over to the light things become easier. ;D
So go with the flow.... (what can it hurt?)

It already looks great! Do you tumble/vibe polish it or do you finish it on belts or a lap machine? I was just wondering because of your comment about a load. If it is a load, that tip could have a problem but may not. It is going to be very pretty when you are done! Can't wait til we can see it. Fran

The shape of the rough and the pattern(s) within dictate the outcome of the cab. You definitely didn't fight what the rock was saying! Good job! Bob
