Well I finally finished this free form cab. I wanted to use the end cut from a chunk of what I thought was moss agate, so there is a small crack on the left side that I couldn't get out without completely changing the shape. I still might go back and redo it later, especially since I notice quite a few small scratches that the camera(unforgiving as usual ) brought out in the upper right by the reflection. While polishing it I noticed that it actually has plumes, thus the subject. It came from a creek near Mt. Saint Helens that I have found quite a lot of material from. Thanks for looking Chasfire

Ok, I am a newbie and really don't know much but I would guess moss. It is a beautiful piece I love the bright red and blue color. I think you are much too hard on yourself, the cab looks great! Amber

AH HAH! A genuine Mossy Plume, or is it a Plumey Moss? It has features of both Plume and Moss so I wouldn't put it in either classification. Great cab, though. I love the contrasting colors as well as the brilliance of the moss/plume. Bob

I filled a crack like that once with epoxy and re-polished the crack. It turned out damn near perfect.

That is Gorgeous! I love those colors and the shape. I think Amber's right...your much too hard on yourself. And it's really cool because it's stuff that you have collected and found. Do you have any more of it?? I'd be interested in a couple slabs or chunks. THANKS! ;D Steve

Now that's a humdinger! Beautiful cab and self collected too! Definitely has characteristics of both moss and plume which seems to happen quite often. Wonderful contrast between the blue agate and the red inclusions and pretty darn fine photography too.....Mel

With such a vibrant red color with a killer pattern it looks like fire and ice to me. You did a beautiful job on that stone.

Wow, love the contrast in that stone. It has so much going on...moss and plumes! Great job on it, too.
