I think this tip should actually be credited to Tony W, well it was he that I saw post it in the first place.
And this is what he said : Dop your stone with a nail, put nail in your battery drill... run your stone round and round while your wheel goes round and round...easy round cab as long as you center the nail.
I have tried it today and thanks to Tony it worked fantastic, but I did refine it a bit from a nail. LOL
To make a perfect round (or virtually perfect round) mark out a round on the slab you want to use. (I drew around an english 2p piece approx 26mm dia) Using a ruler / straight edge mark several straight lines across the face of the slab within the marks for the circle to find the center.
Using tile cutter shear off to as near edge of round as possible.
DOP (I actually used 2 part epoxy glue) an M8 hex head screw to the round, centering as much as possible. (I used an M8 Hex head because it has a nice flat surface and a thick shank.)
Place screw into electric drill chuck and tighten up.
Set grinding discs / tile cutter running. Set drill running. Hold cab (in drill) gently against the side of the grinder and grind to a nice round finish.
Again I used my diamond edged tile cutter instead of grinding disc to do mine.
Diamond cutter turning one way, drill turning the other it rounded off the cab in less than 5 minutes.
I then used the same tools to shape the dome of the cab.
Total time for cabbing 15 mins.
Total time for marking out, cutting glue to set and cabbing, less than 30 minutes.
Cab is now in tumbler, will post pic it 2 weeks time when it has completed it's first rough tumble.
