Killer stone!
Save the scraps and all the fine-ground dust from your cabbing machine. There is gold in it and it is recoverable without too much work, even though it's not visible to the naked eye. Watch out for the manmade gold in quartz, neat but no comparison to old ma nature's work and still wildly 'spensive.

A few years ago I made a bola tie for a freind who was getting remarried and her fiancee wouldn't wear a tie and suit. (He was a retired judge, no less!) He did settle on wearing the bola tie though. At the time, I ordered some gold in quartz from the local Sixteen-To-One mine. It has pure white quartz with the gold. The rough is very pricey (and rare!). I paid the full bullion price for the material even though its total gold weight was at most about 40% of the total weight of the rough. This was back when gold was in the $300 per ounce range. I'll post some pictures of the remaining cab and the left over scraps tomorrow (if the c..c..c..cold garage is bearable). Bob Stone Age industries sells some here: stoneageindustries.com/rough_rutilated_quartz_golden.htmlif you can slab it, it's a bargain at that price - I'd like to see the milky quartz & gold rutiles cabbed - I'm looking for the clear stuff - that I find is much harder to come by

What an Amazing Cab Bob!
I love the pattern and formation, that has some serious style Sir! You did a great job on the cutting and shining! Thanks for sharing your treasure! What a cracking cab!
Cheers,
Sparkles.

I knew I had a cab of "Happy Camp Jade" (Idocrase) with a small gold fleck in it. It took a while for me to find it. Its a bit hard to see the gold but it is in the upper right side. Bob
