I'm currently pricing new wheels for my Genie. I would love to hear some input. I want to replace all my wheels with the factory ones, and I can choose the Nova grits. When I bought the Genie the guy threw in two brand new Nova wheels...the 1200 and 3000. So...if I have a choice to pick 2 diferent grits would it be a 8,000 14,000 or 50,000 or one of those plus like the 3rd or 4th wheel replacement as an extra? One other question...if I get a finer grit I'd have to change the wheels to finish my cabs completely. Is it a pain to chnage the wheels or is it fairly simple?? Thanks for any advice. Steve

Yes, it is a pain to change wheels. I sold my 3000 and got a 14,000 for the last wheel. That's how the Genie shipped for many years. For the majority of stones a 600 or 1200 is enough for a pre-polish then 14,000 puts on a great shine (without having to do any more). I'm very happy with the new set-up, I don't know why D.P. switched the 14,000 for the 3000.

Diamond Pacific says it was too big a jump from 1200 to 14000. I hear everything about the 14000 Nova from what fishenman says (great) to "give me your address and I'll send the !###!! to you (not so great). A lot of people buy the adapter shaft and set up higher grit wheels on it. The right side shaft spins off as a unit so easy to swap out the assemblies. I got one for mine and set up a 4 wheel machine with space between the wheels and the last two wheels on the extra shaft. I'm thinking of replacing the 3000 wheel with a 2 1/2" expando and using diamond belts in 8000, 14000 and 50000 grit.

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to buy a couple of leather pads with the diamond paste, and replace the 1st 4 wheels on the genie. I think this will be easier to take the cabs two steps further without too much trouble. John...looks like you've got a new customer! Steve
