Kev, Your son is so handsome and obviously a fine young man. You must be so proud. I can picture your wife and mother with their tears, 'cause I know... My son came home a year ago after four years of service in the Navy, safe and sound. When he went, I didn't know how I'd be able to handle it, but knowing that he was doing something so incredibly important, helped me so much, as I hope it will for you. Jo

Time flies for some of us. Your son sure blossomed. I do not know what happened to my son. 35, manages a bank, dumb as a box of rocks. I would say, I would trade, but I will share in your joy instead. Knowing you are behind him will make all the difference in the world for him. He looks the kind that looks a person in the eyes when they both speak. My best wishes to you all. Great luck. Yeah, they do grow up fast! I still remember changing my son's diapers, remember the cloth ones? I heard his first words, saw his first steps, he gave me his first tooth. Time flies. Great luck to you all.

doc funny you should mention looking someone in the eyes......we had that conversation a few weeks ago......we had diff opinions on who should wash while mom was getting better and at her moms.....nothing serious ;D
but he made the mistake of turning around and walking away while still talking.....i immediatly grabbed him by the back of the collar of his shirt.....then explained how doing that can get you hurt in the right situation....learn now i said.
thats when i reminded him to always say what he wants to say to the person eye to eye.....dont ever talk behind ones back.....be man enough to say it.....or shut up.
john.....he quite isnt old enough to serve yet ;D....he just turned 15....but if everything holds true....he will be a general or some ch%^t by the time hes 30 or so ;D....kev.

He looks like a very nice young man. If he is not in the service, is he in ROTC? It seems like it was just a short time ago my son's were all little. My oldest will be in the Navy for 8 years in January and has been married for 6 years on Dec 31. Time just flies! I love seeing the man he has become and the glimpses of the child he was. When I had them all here at Thanksgiving, it sure was a lot of fun! Enjoy every minute! Fran

fran yep jrotc....hes just tall for just turning 15....hes 6 foot tall and wide at the shoulders...the young ladies are starting to hit hard and heavy.....but he says right now he doesnt have time for them .....his studies come first.......im proud allright of him......but probably more proud for him at this time than proud of him. he is being giving every promotion and ribbon and medals.....as quickly as regulations allow by the jrotc......he joined the rifle team....then almost immediately was asked to become a permanent member....hes marching in the parades...doing community service. anyway.....you tell your son.......THANK YOU FOR SERVING from me....i do appreciate it....we know what it means for 1 to serve....kev.

He is a fine looking young man and like the song says; don't blink. took me ten years to have three and my baby girl is now 15. Why do they tower over their moms at 15? Even when they want to look you in the eye, face to face, they have to stoop.
Well, the important thing is helping to mold their backbone strong, straight and true. It is obvious you did that and you have good reason to be proud.
Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and your family
