Hi, ya'll! My opal addiction is getting the better of me and I'm kicking around the idea of buying some more rough and maybe getting some extra so I can sell some small lots so folks can have a taste of working opal without having to spend hundreds. I might just back off the whole thing and it won't happen till next year sometime anyway so don't get your hopes up and salt away the milk money, but I wondered if any are interested in 20 or 30 or 40 buck lots plus ship if I can get enough rough that looks pretty good. We are probably talking about 10 to 20 cents a gram and a lot of that will be mud or ironstone so don't hock the car, or spend the cat's food money on opal, 'cause opal is a gamble. Of course everyones mileage may vary, and I can't make any predictions as to what I might get.... but if you might be interested in trying some opal if all seems well when the time comes and the depression hasn't hit yet, and the planets align .....add your name here and I'll let you know when and if something becomes available. I'm posting this here because I am just thinking in terms of my cabbing friends and not interested in a business I am just trying to get a feel for any interest that might be there. Thanks, Tony

Are you buying them from Eugene (OUBLA on E-Bay)? I bought several of the economy boxes from him but they got real thin on opal. When he sold them the 15 to 20 pound bag was sealed and unopened, Are you passing these bags off unchecked? I may be interested in one if this is where you are getting your rough. Some of the bags contained some real gems other have not, I guess you never know. Maybe with the down economy he will spice them up, let me know.

Hey, Tony! Yeah, Gene. His rough hasn't come in from the mine yet but when it does I was thinking about driving down to see what I can get. It is all very nebulous, but I'll let you know if and when T

I would be interested in a small lot. I love what I have seen on this site and have been wanting to get a little to try out but can't afford the eBay prices for the material.
