With the price of gas coming down, I'm seriously thinking of heading to the Quartzite show. Anyone know what the best time would be in order to make sure I can check out different shows?

yes, go toward the end of the month. That way you can go to Desert Gardens and the pow wow. Ralph and i will be going the 23rd, that weekend.
If you go. thats where most of the rocks are to be found. Otherwise it mostly a huge swap meet of clothes, kitchen stuff and everythink inbetween.

Thanks for that info. If I do go, I'll make a point of PMing you a few days before. That way maybe we can meet each other while we're out there. I wasn't really planning on going, but with the price of gas, it won't be that bad.

We are hoping to finally make it this year. I know....been absent from here a lot, but have missed all the folks on here! I still have a box to ship to Randy!!!!! We have been trying to find a place to set up for a day or so at Quartzite to sell some drusy, but it's hard to find any information on actually selling there. We've sold and traded a lot in the last year, but kept some and will go get more just to set up there. I'll post if we get to go. Sandy

heres a link to some of the information. I have often thought of selling out there but i don't think i have enough rock to make it worthwhile. These is only 2 places where there is lots of rock, desert gardens and the pow wowl I know you have to buy a city license to sell and not sure how much it is now, but 15 yrs ago it was between $25- $30 for the year. But it really is only that month as nothing is going on the rest of the yr. lol I could call there for you as i'm very close and find out more for you. In the meantime you can read threw this link. Maybe one of these years i can split the cost with someone. pm me if you want me to find out more for you. ralph and mary ann www.quartzsitervshow.com/rvshow.htm

thanks guys! We are sitting here trying to figure out what we can afford to do. We are even debating on maybe trying to go and not take anything, just to go. Our last west trip, we just drove and found rock hunting spots! We haven't taken a road trip in awhile....money is tight, but we are dying for a good trip. I'll let you know if we decide to try and sell, then will be begging for help. Sandy

Bummer! Won't be able to go the weekend of the 23rd. I have a group of future scientists from work that I will be taking to compete for Science Fair and I need to be with them. No problem. That only means more disposable income for the Tucson Gem Show.

The last weekend (Pow Wow) is the peak of Quartzite. If anyone makes it to Cloud's Jamboree (AVI near Laughlin) stop and see us in spaces D908/909. We will also be at Tucson Electric Park having a "Sales Event" in the Barranca Diamond tent Feb 8-14.

Well I don't even want to say I'm going to attempt to go here.. after trying to get to the mesa rock show and getting lost twice.. I think if I attempt this one.. I will have to have to take a driver that actually reads signs and pays attention to directions.. Hopefully Jamie said she'll go with me.. to this one.. that will be cool.. and maybe a new rock hound in the future.. Oh and he has a single 31 yr old friend sherri.. wanna meet him? ;D
