Finally getting over my cold so I went out to the cccold garage and cut a ccccold cccab. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it is from Oregon??? It is about 1 3/4" tall. Bob

What ever it is it looks ethereal. Lovely, tranquil and calming also comes to mind to describe it.
I hope you are completely over your cold.

Very Nice Bob! Glad you were able to overcome that cccccold garage! Maybe it's a limbcast from the Paulina area. Very soft and angelic. Steve

I guess pattern and color like that comes from many places - but that sure is a dead ringer for Moroccan Agate.

Very cool cab, don't know what it is but very nice. I got to say though I looked up Valley Springs weather............... Then I looked up mine Thats not cold!!! ;)Heck me, my wife and kids spent the whole day outside today because it was so nice here today ;D. It just warmed up from the -25F weather we had been getting. Your temperatures are down right spring like!!

I agree it's a very dreamy cab - dreamy like your weather....
Saskrock - the southeners are getting snow - here it's expected (although not as much as we've been getting these past two years) but I agree that weather is much better than ours -21C here even the basement is ccccold here.

Really like the work on the bottom. The cab almost looks like a liquid dripping off the stand. If it's from Oregon, I would guess it is from a fortified limb cast. Looks like it wants to be iris...

Wow! That is a nice banded agate Bobby! I don't know how you manage to do such a fine job on those concave grinds like on the bottom of that cab. Guess my wheels are too close together or something. I'm with you, it does get cold in the gold country Up at a our Hornitos ranch it used to get clear down to 18. I know you cold country folks think 18 ain't nuthin but it's friggin cold to me *L*....Mel

I am awestruck! I really don't know how you get the shapes you do and that one is so fitting for that beautiful banding in that stone. WOW! Fran

I have an 8" diamond wheel with plenty of room around it to allow me to work off the edge of the wheel. For sanding I have an 8" diameter 3" wide expando wheel. I slide the very well worn belts off the side about 1/8" and get it to flex backwords to fit into the curvature of the "V". For polishing the "V" I take my large carpet covered wheel off and install an 8" diameter wood wheel that has the outer rim shaped to a point so it will reach into the "V". Bob

Nice one, Bob. Nice piece of agate too.
When you cabbed this, does the dome "split" down the two lobes, or is it like one overall dome and the girdle gets thicker up in the notch?
Rich
