Howdy, Just got back from a six day trip up to my ranch Was lucky enough to get some time in for prospecting as it was too darn hot for real work. One of my neighbors called me to tell me he had some jasper exposed where he was putting in a new stock tank. Turned out his trencher uncovered some real fine brecciated jasper. I'll post a pic of that material real soon. Also collected several types of poppy jasper. Have posted a couple of pics in the photo section just to get some experience with photo posting in general. Will take a pic of a couple of the other types and post them soon too.

Lucky for you that your neighbor knew to tell you, that was pretty nice.

Howdy Cher, It's really funny but all my neighbors kinda know me as the odd fellow who will actually haul rocks off their property. I'm always hiking around and so know and have gained the trust of almost everyone. Most strangers are met with a shotgun as the ranchers therabouts are a bit peckish about constant trespassing mainly by game poachers. I always ask permission and the usual response when they finish laughing is "Rocks!! Take all the gull- derned rocks ya want!!!" Many even watch for rocks for me so that is very kewl. Always nice to have friendly neighbors huh?

If you have any of that Poppy Jasper extra, post it in the Venders section. I imaginea lot of people would be interested. I know I would. Trish

I saw the pics of your poppy jasper, be interested in seeing the brecciated too. Jasper is my all time favorite for tumbling, it's just so easy to work with and seldom ever fractures. You know, most of the time neighbors (even in town) don't know who lives next door anymore. I imagine just the fact that you've made yourself known shows them you're just out enjoying yourself. I think it's great that they think about you to let you know about the rocks. My neighbor doesn't make a habit of looking but if she finds something neat, she saves it for me.
