These are some of the cabs I've been working on this holiday weekend. They are the first cabs I've cut since refurbishing the 1200 and 3000 grit wheels on my Genie. The refurbished wheels perform better than new wheels. I'll post the technique in another thread on the tips forum. These photos were taken in my new photo-box with black felt installed. Owyhee Picture Jasper - 2.5" diameter Mariposa Poppy Jasper - 3" diameter Texas Plume Agate Graveyard Point Plume Agate Jumpin' Jeep Plume/Moss Agate - This has some microfractures on the surface. I think I'll treat it with Opticon and repolish. I love this material. Blue Biggs Picture Jasper Bruneau Canyon Orbicular Jasper - Mercy, this stuff takes a nice polish. I'm also working on some ultra-rare Ashwood plume cabs. The material has quite a bit of micro-pitting, so I am doing some pre-polish Opticon treatment. Happy New Year to all, HPD

You keep putting on AWESOME CABS!!! What some gorgeous pictures. They could be in an Art Museum. Choice material too. That Texas Plume, Owyhee, and Bruneau are my favs....but of course they are all GRAND! Thought I'd add a little comment. I've seen Dale Rhodes sell that Jumpin' Jeep material in the rough and it's the 1st time I've seen a cab from the material. I like that one too!!! The more I look at it...the more I like it. The purple adds a nice touch to the mix of colors. Steve

To copy a "phrase" from the text messaging generation ....... OMG!!! Those are spectacular. The colors, God given design, workmanship, and your photography are the absolute best. Thank you for sharing with us. I will be reading your saw tips, too, as I have an old saw I'm trying to get up and going. Happy New Year! Susan 2

Freeeoooww!! Those cabs are astonishing! What an eyewateringly glorious display of cabs, just beautiful! ;D ;D ;D Your photographs have given a really rich finish to the images and the stones are absolutlely stunning. I particularly enjoyed the Poppy and the Texas Plume examples, but they are all extremely beautiful stones. The style is awesome and the size and precision of cut are really something, great display! Thanks for sharing them with us! Cheers, Sparkles.

You sure have taken some great material, and made some outstanding cabs! Where does the Jumping Jeep material come from? That stuff is is certainly eye candy. Woody

You sure have taken some great material, and made some outstanding cabs! Where does the Jumping Jeep material come from? That stuff is is certainly eye candy. Woody Jumpin' Jeep comes from the Mitchell, Oregon area up in the Ochoco's. I have also heard it called Mitchellite. I believe the initial discovery of the material was made by Shirts Quant. I met a gentleman who knows the current claim owner and was selling it for $6/pound. He was also selling a very unique plume agate called Storm Cell plume that is from the same area. I haven't cut any of that yet. HPD

Thank you! I like knowing where material comes from...especially if that 'where' happens to be close by. Knowing the history of Shirts Quant, I am not surprised that he found the material. The Prineville area just has so much great material, and new stuff is still being found. I think, I will spend more time there this spring. Woody
