Well I decided I needed some cab visitation so Friday I cabbed at Tony's. I got 10 cabs finished, too many at one time again, but I am still waiting for my machine!!! Here are petrified wood cabs! My first time cabbing wood, I think it should be called stinky wood, because I think it smells terrible when grinding it. I like wood now!!! Curt hooked me up with great kinds of wood to try, and I can't decide on a favorite. Red Snakewood-from Texaswoodie Caddo Wood- from Texaswoodie Tony tried cerium on this, and it placed a hazy film over it, I will have to regrind it again, because it was shiny. Ghostwood- from Texaswoodie Wood from Jamie. When I saw this slab all I could think of was Roxy and her skull blinking eye, so this cab is for her, Roxy----I need your address!

Those are really nice. I LOVE the second one.
Wish I wouldn't have already sent you the slabs or I would have tossed in some pet wood from South Texas. Got a 5 gal bucket of the stuff. Will send ya' some if you want.

Wow, 10 cabs in one day! You were busy. I really like the ghost wood. It almost looks like little carnelian dots in it. I haven't had good luck working pet wood, it always seems to fracture on me.

Great job on the pet wood cabs! My favorite color stone is red, so I am partial to the red snakeskin wood. All are nice though.

Gosh, this is so hard, I really like them all... the texture on the third, the eyes on the last, the vibrancy of the first, but I think I am liking the pattern and color contrast of the second. You go, Girl! Jo

Those are beautiful. That "Roxy"cab is amazing. You did a great job showcasing and photographing these and my favorite is the Ghost Wood.

Terrific job Amber! That Snakewood really stands out, as well as the Ghostwood. I have some 'sister slabs' to that last one! Great looking cabs!
