I'm currently using two different machines - both work wonderfully - to get me through the steps. However, one of the machines is fairly noisy (mostly because my Dad in his ever-loving thoughtfulness attached it to a nice welded angle-iron base), especially as I use it indoors.
Ideally I would like to combine the two machines into one that is fairly neat and with a decent noise level. Which brings me to my question: What's the noise level and water spray level on a Genie? I love my setup, and it works well for me, but if I could get a slightly tidier, quieter setup, I would be even more thrilled, if you know what I mean.

The Genie itself is VERY quiet! When I am grinding on the first two wheels, of course it gets a little loud. The water spray is nice but no noise. Just little sprays of water on the wheel. Hope it helps!

I have nothing to add, it's exactly like Sheri said.

I'm no Genie owner, but to me it sounds like a puppy lapping up water. Slurp slurp slurp. Steve

I don't have one but I have worked on one on TV (hehe) they're pretty noise-free - the only sound is the rocks being beautified

Thanks, guys. Sounds like Uncle Sam just might be buying me a Genie this year. He was going to buy me a larger slab saw, but that might wait instead.

The first two wheels are pretty loud to me when I'm grinding agate/jasper. I wear earplugs during those steps. The Genie comes with two geysers and I put them both under the wheel I'm using for extra water. The geysers also tend to vibrate around and move during grinding. I glued a few strips of thin plastic to the bottom of the pans to keep them centered.
