Right on Steve! And if your ever in the Phoenix area having nay troubles I'd be the one to contact. That truly is romantic bejewelme. Thanks for posting! Heart 1/2's come in all forms. The picture below was made by a great uncle of mine. The heart must be over 70 years old. He owned a marble company in Chicago. He also did a marble mosaic portrait of 'Beauty & the Beast.' It resides in a museum in Italy somwhere. Unfortunately finding out any specific information on his work is proving difficult... but I'm working on it. Anyway I think this rock grinding thing is inherent in the blood... he drilled a hole to hold the bale. Pretty nice and all the work must have been done with just silicone carbide wheels.

ED: I just saw this! How cool that you have such a neat family treasure!!! It sort of looks like an onyx to me, or a special type of marble, but I am not the one to ask, Mel would know. I will say this, that mosaic sounds super cool, have you seen a photo? If you need help touring every museum in Italy let me know,I could free up the next 50 years for that, LOL. I was only in Italy once and it was the trip of a lifetime, I LOVED IT!!!! Love the art, food, people, everything Amber

I think your right, bejeweled! Marble! That probably what it is. Is marble really hard? Cause I tried polishing that heart and was messing it up. It may be as good as its able to be. Its not a very good photograph.. My photography skills need to get better. I saw a picture of the mosaic about 20 years ago. My Mom hopes she still has it and were going to search for it soon. It was a black & white on a postcard. The mosaic was wall size and very cool. Hopefully we’ll recover it and I’ll be able to post it. I sent an e-mail to curator in Italy. So far no reply. Who knows? Maybe someone on this board will know something. Thanks for the great opening line!! “Hi honey…ummmm….I need someone to accompany me to Italy & peruse museums in search of the marble mosaic of Beauty & the Beast. Would you be interested?” That ought’a help me find my rock’n better ½. For such great ideas Amber hears a heart for you

Your singing my song Roxy! Heart of Stone & "Cha$Ching" as a nice ring. Valentines day is going to be a bust! Christmas gifts did me in. But I have lots of ideas. Time, money & experiece would solve. All 3 I'm short on, of course More importantly tho, what's in the other eye? Perhaps we could get graphic artist to cut and paste a heartofstonebloodshotrock'nheart in? a pupil of rock ! ;D
