Canadian Rocky Mountains for me, in part because I'm only a 4-hour drive away (and accessibility counts in my books!). Kind of odd perhaps that a person (me) who doesn't like winter should like their mountains capped with ice, but that's just the way it is, so I seek out the ice and rock combos. -Don Saskatchewan Glacier (and my wife and daughter), from the end of the Parker Ridge trail. Notice the light (scoured) area on the left-side of the photo -- that's how high up the valley the ice was just 100 years ago. Me and my daughter at Wilcox Pass trail, along the Icefields Parkway. Different year, but another pic from Wilcox Pass trail, off the Icefields Parkway. Angel Glacier (on the mountain) and Cavell Glacier (at the base of the mountain), near Jasper. This is from my first-ever visit to the Rockies, more than 20 years ago, and this got me hooked.

Ibex mountains, at the south end of Death Valley. No hounding there, but they sure are pretty.
