A while back, Tony W sent me some Labradorite preforms. One was pretty much finished (probably was finished before the post office ran the envelope through a roller and tore up the package) and the other he had found the fire and it was ready to be worked. Well, I was afraid I would ruin them so I hadn't touched them. I finally got my courage up and started working on them about 2 weeks ago. The one on the right looked really pretty when I got it but there was a section that had been chipped out (little piece still in the napkin)right on the top. I ground it down and reshaped the sides and took it all the way to a 3000 flat lap disk before polishing. I started to get little chips or undercuts right as I was just about done with the polish and that was with dipping in water every few seconds. Over all, I am pretty happy with them but I wish I had done them even better. Thank you so much Tony! ;D

Wow, Fran! YOu did great. The stuff is chippy and has cracks, I'm afraid, but you found the best part... the color flash, and photographed it better than I've seen done yet. Just a marvelous job of catching the flash. I am so impressed with your work!! Tony

You did a great job on these and photoed them beautifully. That flash is mesmerizing and working it must take a long time cause I'd stop every few minutes just to stare at it.

The only reason I captured the flash is because Tony W cut it for me. I just finished shaping them once he cut it the right way to find the flash in it. I was really afraid of ruining them. Fran

They are fun to work, aren't they, because they are so soft. When I get frustrated I go work some Lab because it just pushes around like clay No, lady, I just roughed 'em a bit, that beauty is all you! T
