I'm looking for a small bushing that I can use on my combo unit.
My dad got some 4 & 4.5" diamond saw blades for a bout $4 each from somewhere. The hole size seems to be 5/8" - unfortunately, the Lortone arbor is 1/2" (just my luck) where can I get a mini bushing like that? Could I wrap the arbor with something to make it thicker or should I use a real bushing?
And where could I find this? Could I use a regular washer if I could find one in the correct size? This would be a mini thing - a 1/2" hole and 1/8" thick Is there another option?

Almost anyone who sells saw blades should be able to get you some bushings. Most of them ask you what size your arbor is and will send the correct bushing with the blade.

You can get bushing at most rock shops. The bushings I have seen have been for wheels and the length would need to be cut down for blades but the hole and outside dimensions are right. I have tried using a washers and taping arbors before and was not happy with the results.

You can get them from John at JSGEMS. He is a member/dealer here. Jim

I'd be happy to mail you some bushings but the ones I carry are pretty thin (.025"-.014"). If your blades are tile blades (.060-.067") you should try Ace Hardware or other hardware with pull out drawers of hardware. They will be called "shims". Try to match the thickness of the blades. If your blade washers have a recess you can buy shims that fit the recess to hold the shims in place. Some people put the bushings in then peen the edges with a center punch to keep them in place. Washers won't work as they are not precisely round enough in most cases and 1/2" washers are oversized to slip easily over a bolt. You may be able to find shims at an auto parts store also or an automotive machine shop. $4 blades are amazingly cheap but if they are tile blades you may be in for a disappointment. You can buy 1/2" arbor 6" lapidary blades fairly cheaply.

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they have cards of saw blade bushings from 1/2" to 1". If I remember right, the card costs about $2.00 each. The card number is P1444.
