Steveholmes.... no, it's not a " plant " ( I know what you mean ;D ) , # 12 is a sand dollar fossil...... amazing how little some things have changed over a few million years!!!!
Also, I have to thank DeanW for this box.....

Wow Chris, Dean really set you up good with this box of goodies! Some of that will tumble really well and you do have some that would make beautiful cabs there! Fran

Pic # 8 is obsidian, possibly "rainbow" obsidian. If it looks in person like it does in the pic, then it is indeed rainbow obsidian. That stuff makes some killer cabs!! Oh, and #9 looks alot like Imperial jasper.

Hey chrisperez, this past Friday I joined a "local" gem/mineral/rock club, about 45 minutes away. One of the perks is that twice a month all the lapidary equipment is open to all members for $1! Lots of saws, cabbing machines etc. Maybe you can find a local club to join, perhaps they would have equipment to use or someone in the club could do it or teach you. Here is a link to your State: www.rockhounds.com/rockshop/clubs/ohio.shtml Hope it helps & good luck. Don

#8 is definitely Rainbow Obsidian. Looks better now that Chris has cleaned it up a little than it did in person before I shipped it .
