Beautiful start, Tony! No wander about that, you got both a lot of talent and very good jade carving teachers. It looks you have patience, too. Please post future the progresses of this work.

You're off to an excellent start Tony! I think that is going to be one Bad-Ass knife when you finish. Thanks for posting this...and I'll be looking forward to the updates. Steve

Thanks Guys. I think anyone can carve if they are willing to do it. All it takes is time and practice, thats all.
I have a couple extra slabs if anyone wants to try this. There would be one catch though, start a progression and post your progress as you go. This offer is for the serious only. If anyone would be willing to try and post up, I will be glad to send the material. Send me a PM about this rather then reply here, include your idea too.

That is looking fantastic, Tony. The things you do with your jade all seem to require so much patience!

I have to say carving is very slow going unless you have time. Not much time for me lately but here is another three hours. I really like to carve and am learning. Listing to my ipod with 80's, 90's, and surf music gets me in the groove to carve, hope to complete this in the next few months.

Looking good. Normally if I can't do it in one sitting, I don't do it. Don't think I will try carving. I am IMPATIENT. Ken

You have way more patience than me. Do you do the grinding underwater? I was wondering how the Foredom tool's hand piece will hold up to the water. How long do the bits last?

Ohhh WOW! I know just how tedious grinding away can be so I'm totally impressed Tony!
And hey! How long you had your little corgi boy? He's got a beautiful face & his coloring/marking is VERy much like mine!

This is looking great. Do you have a general idea how you want the final piece to look, or is it more just carving until the shape feels "done"?
