Hi everybody! I'm trying to learn to cut fire agate. It's not too easy to make domed stones from this stuff. I'm saving the primo for later, after much practice. This little is perfect for a ring, I'm stunned by all the colors. just a little fire in this one a little more... mostly gold with a nice layer of calcedoney Thanks for looking' Geoff

Geoff: I think you did a great job with them! Tony loves fire agates, he will love this post!!! I like the second set of pics, the one on the left, even without a lot of fire, that is a really pretty cab! Nice work on difficult material Amber

Those are beautiful! I especially like the second and third ones. You did a great job on those! Can't wait to see the primo stuff although doesn't look to me like you need too much more practice!

Wow, if that isn't the good stuff you must have a great source! I've been working through a box I got last year and have only gotten one as good as those Want to trade? The middle one on the right is my favorite. T

Like Amber said I love fire agate so this is quite a treat for me. Unfortunately I don't have the skills (or the deep pockets) required to work this stuff. You did a great job and thanks for posting them.

Wow, your doing great! A friend sent me some, but I haven't had time to work it yet. I can see it taking a while to get a cab out of it.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I have only started to get a feel for this stuff I have ruined more than I have cut correctly. I just got lucky right now plus, some of my rough was already windowed.
I'm determined to become a fire agate cutter.

Mineralholics store on ebay has Deer Creek fire agate for 10.00 a pound. Google turns up a few sellers. Most of mine was purchased 5 years ago on ebay from 4-5 diff sources.
