Hiya Folks, Under the cosh somewhat at the moment, and my lapidary activities are being a little curtailed. However I'm doing a bit here and there as and when the opportunity presents. This piece is part of a larger project that demanded a tiny - and I MEAN weeeenie cabochon, single-sided high dome. This is the result of a little playing... 5mm Brazilian Agate Circle. Thought it might give some of you a chuckle. The finished project will be along - sometime - hopefully soon... Cheers, Sparkles. p.s. No - I have "normal" sized fingers

Now that's a SMALL cab. I find it easier to buy cabs this small. I've done a few and they weren't easy to do. You did a fantastic job on the dome.

Cab? What Cab? All I see is a small green wart on the tip of your finger. It's a nice little cab! You did a fabulous job. A tooth pick is to large to dop that, I think it was a sewing needle.

Impressive work, Harry! It looks like an eye of some creature you are working at, that`s my guess.

Wow! You folks seem to have been far more interested in this teeny cab than I expected - I only posted as I've been so quiet lately and didn't have anything much else to share just now, I'm pleased you all found it so interesting! Stoner - I considered buying it in, but I like to do the whole job if I can and I had to have a try at this one - it's the smallest I've done so far. Glad you liked it! Akansan - I did think of the toothpick, but didn't have one to hand, so I used a carbon rod from my model making box. There are lots of handy bits at the model shop, and they are super cheap. 1mm carbon rod is about £0.75 a foot, and I only needed 3 inches. Tony - I did squint quite a lot! It's only on the photo that I can see how well I did! Sitnwrap - Again - it's only on the picture I realised how neat the dome really was - the reflection looks quite cool! Glad you liked it! Bejweleme - Yup! I found myself cutting smaller and smaller stones, Adrians leaves seemed tiny - but now they seem huge! He he he! I could have cut this one sideways in the thickness of a slab! Makes that valuable rough go further I guess! llana2go - Glad you liked it - It does have a certain something - I was very pleased with the end result. I'm sure it will be even prettier when it's in it's final location... ;D Tony - it was the dopping that gave me nightmares! Took 3 goes to get it to hold tight - but when it did - it went to plan quite easily. It's certainly a tiny one! Dscratch - Yup - sure does look like a wart hey?! He he he! Wish I'd thought of a sewing needle now... Stonesthatrock - glad you liked it - it's certainly shiny for it's size! Adrian - Congratulations Sir! You saw exactly what I was going to use it for ;D Now all you need to do is guess what sort of creature ;D He he he! Well folks - this was fun! When I finish the tricky cab I have been cutting I shall show you what I've been making! ;D Cheers All, Sparkles.

A fish? Could it be a fish eye? That's one huge bunch of beautiful in a tiny little cab. Jo

Wow, now that is some incredible work!!! I'm surprised you didn't go blind cabbing that little baby! I can't wait to see the finished product.
