I haven't had much free time lately to cab, but I have managed to do a few. Hope you like them. 1- African Turquoise: 2- Black Plume: Blue Swirlstone: 3- Boulder Opal (front): and back: 4- A big ol' Brazilian: 5- Chrysocolla - this one undercut on me horribly. I can't say I like this cab much... 6- Crazy Lace: 7 - Green Moss: 8- Unknown Herkimer Rock (chert?): 9- Slab I picked up at a show. It was sold to me as "Misty Mountain", but in seeing other slabs of Misty Mountain, I'm quite sure it's not: 10- Noreena - sorry for the lint: 11- Pet Wood: 12- Pet Reed (there's a little citrine pocket in this one that didn't break the surface, it's lovely): 13- Gold plumes of unknown origin: 14- Polish flint: 15- Sheen obsidian (although I couldn't catch the sheen part...no sun, either due to the snow): 16- Cardiac Hill Agate (Thanks, Woody! I see waves breaking on a beach): 17- Thunder egg guts: 18- Unknown jasper: 19- Another unknown jasper: 20- Rutile: I really need to work on a light box next, I think...my pics leave much to be desired.

They are all beautiful, but ...
#20 - Rutile is amazing. Wind blown prairie wheat encased in glass.

Noreena, pet wood, guts, unknown round, and that Rutile! Get that last one wrapped in gold! Or maybe rose gold?
The chrysocolla would sell in an instant down here, it's almost Rodeo time! Sorry it was such a pain to work with, it's a great color!
You're right, that doesn't look like the misty mountain I've seen, either.
Fabulous bunch of cabs! Thanks for showing us!

A few is an understatement. That Noreena is awesome and that Tahoma has a wicked 3D effect. Is that the same Rutile cab you showed me when I was over. If so, you captured that beauty perfectly in the pic.

Spectacular group of stones. My favorite is the rutilated quartz, that's a real collector's piece. I am really attracted to #18 also. I like the color and pattern on that one. HPD

If so, you captured that beauty perfectly in the pic. Yup, that's the rutile cab you saw when you were here last. The Noreena has a line of a metal of some sort through it...I'd love to know what. It looks like silver, but I dunno.

Wonderful batch Nicole. I LOVE the rutile, that material is so much fun. That pet wood is a fav too. You have a great variety of shapes there.

Nicole: What a beautiful group of cabs, they are all beautiful!!!! I think, the Tahoma, is actually Cardiac Hill agate. Woody

Thanks for that clarification, Woody! That is actually a piece I got from you,. The slab I got that piece from got broken during shipping, but the pieces are all big enough to cab...if it's gotta break, that's the way to go! The label on that slab got worn to nothing but sticky from the other rocks, so I didn't have an ID.

The Noreena has a line of a metal of some sort through it...I'd love to know what. It looks like silver, but I dunno. I think the shiny lines in the Noreena are Hematite. I'VE cut a bunch of it and occasionally it fractures along these lines.

I think the shiny lines in the Noreena are Hematite. I'VE cut a bunch of it and occasionally it fractures along these lines. I'd wondered about that, HPD...that makes sense. I did a google search today to try to find out any info I could. I didn't turn up much, but hematite totally makes sense. I guess I should count myself quite lucky that that cab didn't break, since the hematite vein runs completely through the cab.
