Well, I finally got another group done and following are my second group of cabs posted here. Feel free to offer any input, good or bad. I know I really need to work on my pictures but I'm trying I'm a sucker for clear stones with banding. Done with a flat top, no dome. Same as the above rock but tilted to show the mirror finish. I like this one. It's color is like key lime. Thank again for your input. If there are things you see that can use help, let me know. I learned long ago that criticism is necessary for growth.

Wow that is only your second batch! Great job on these, they all have a nice shape and a killer killer shine. That first one reminds me a lot of the Utah Imperial Jasper I have.

Thanks guys.
Tony, this is my second batch posted. I've been working cabs, self-taught using the info here, for six months now. I just didn't have anything worthy of taking pics until a couple weeks ago. As far as the first one goes, I think it is Imperial Jasper that you mention. That's what it was sold as, at least.

Sweeet Larry! You have a heck of a shine going on too. What is your secret behind that blinding shine?? I am a sucker for banded agates as well. Is your 2nd one down Maury Mtn. Moss?? Thanks for sharing, and keep it up! Steve

Wow, the reflection in the second to last pic is unbelievable. It's all reflection and no stone. I think you should name it Reflections Perfection and frame the pic. That is a beautiful set of cabs.

The second one was sold to me in a lot called Jockeys Agate, from the Jockeys Mt. or something. I have no idea how valid that is, being ebay and all, but that's what it was sold as. The brown/green flat one was in a box from Dean and I have no idea what it is. The last one is serpentine and I love the material.
I use a flat lap to do the cabs and cheap craft felt with diamond paste for the polish. I tried leather once but too many cabs went flying then I tried wood but ended up back with felt.
The one greatest thing I learned is to be patient. I used to bang out 6 cabs, start to finish, in one 2-hour, span. Those batches, if given a title, were called "scratches and flat spots." Now, it takes 2-3 sessions to just get 4 or 5 done, and the results are much better. Needless to say, my daughter has a bin full of bad cabs she can play with as rough as she wants.
Thank you for the kind words. Being a former wannabe artist, I am super critical of everything I make so it's nice to know I'm doing good so far.

Larry, I learned the same lessons - patience really is key when working rocks!
I love the last one as well. The pattern and shape are really nice!
