Dang it..........I cant find one of the cabs I recently finished. Ive looked EVERYWHERE. Ive looked where its supposed to be, where its not supposed to be.........with the rough, with the slabs, on the shelf, in the drawer. The frigg'n thing grew legs and disappeared. And it was that really cool Lookout Point wood that I posted recently that has a clear agate lightning bolt down the middle. Grrr, Im practically losing sleep trying to find it. I think I hid it from myself. One of those "ohhh, I like this one, Im going to put it right here for safe keeping". That translates to "Ha! You'll never find me again, sucker!!!"
Anyone else lose cabs? ;D

ROFL! Sorry Shannon but been there done that with cabs and everything else. Never ever put anything in a "Safe Place" Safe Place is the twilight zone. The black hole that swallows things up when you aren't looking and then spits them out right in front of your eyes. Last thing I lost were my glasses during Christmas. I put them in a safe place (on the table where I wrap) They disapeared. I swear I looked at that table and moved every thing at least 6 times then finally broke down and got a new pair. The next day, my old pair magically reapears on that table. The table is only 44x21 in my bedroom and used only for wrapping. No way I could miss them. Safe places are not safe!

Oh, and at Christmas I wanted to include a specific tumble in the Christmas exchange. I put that in a safe place and I knew exactly where that safe place was but the tumble wasn't there. I swear it wasn't there. Then a month or so after Christmas, I wanted to send tumbles and cool stuff to someone. As I'm looking through my stuff sure as anything, that specific tumble was sitting right in that safe place pretty as you please.
Sorry for the rant. lol
It's the twilight zone I tell ya!.

I don't misplace things for more than a few months (but sometimes years). I have a terrific piece of Yowah Opal that has disappeared somewhere between packing up my garage stuff while getting ready to move last April and unpacking last week. We were at a local show and my wife was admiring a person's beautiful Yowah pendant when she asked where my piece was. I humbly said "I haven't a clue". I was sternly requested to get to looking! Bob

Wow sorry to hear that Shannon! I do recall losing one once. Dropped the darn thing on the rug so I didn't hear it fall and found it a few days later when I stepped on it and broke it in half. That one cost me a few nickles in the swear word can!.....Mel

I sure have. Two in fact that were sold on ebay. After the auctions I couldn't find either for several months.

Man I hate it when that happens! I had a beautiful piece of picasso marble go flying when I hit my plate with all my cabs-in-progress - I'm not using the plate anymore. I looked everywhere, in the strewn boxes, on the floor, under the dresser, under the desk, in my apron pockets - everywhere - even checked the slurry bucket - nothing!
I did manage to find it much, much later - just lying there - hiding it's small legs under it's flat back! Darn thing I told it not to walk away
Maybe the puppy took it?

Nancy,
THAT would not surprise me one bit. Dyna has ran off with everything from my bra to rocks from the tumbling bucket.

I misplaced some jade cabs my Dad made, but I did eventually find them much later in the "safe" place I stashed them...

Hahahaha! I haven't lost cabs, but I sure can relate to putting things in "safe places" only to never find them again.

I just did that but it is not a completed cab. It is a preform that I receintly posted in the slabs and saw section under rough cut preforms...It is in the top picture, center that is red jasper with a bit of picture jasper in it. I now can't find it anywhere! I know I set it aside to jump it ahead and make it for someone that is getting married soon. (Favorite color is red) Now it is just not anywhere. I started thinking I had imagined it but there it is in the picture. I just hate when I do this Fran

I have lost many cabs only find them later in plain site. I just kept overlooking them. However, last fall I bought a couple of Texas Springs limb cast with incredible deep red and pink agate that I haven't seen since since I brought them home. That is driving me nuts!

Been there...... I posted the scenario on Adrian's leaf competition site. I'd totally obliterated my fingernails and the tips of my fingers doing those minuscule leaves. Got ready to send them to Titania and they were nowhere to be found. I mentioned that I have very little free time right now and it's a choice between cleaning house and cutting rocks. You ALL know what my decision was.....cut rocks. So, after all that time I lost the leaves in my totally messy house. Found 'em in the nick of time and they arrived at Titania's house yesterday. Yeaaaaaaaa! Susan2

Check the grapes in the fridge. That's what I tell my wife when she can't find something. A few years back we got home from a trip with our travel trailer. She had her keys in her hand when we started unloading the trailer......but they somehow disappeared. We looked EVERYWHERE (we thought), for several days. She didn't find them so she got another set made. About a week later she found them in in the refrigerator, in the bag with the grapes. It seems she had the keys in her hand at the same time she unloaded the grapes from the trailer, and they just silently slid in there while carrying stuff into the house. Who woulda thought?

LOST WOODWARD RANCH CAB - REWARD!!!
I lost this one - it was my favorite. Still a mystery as I hoarded it as if it were gold...I suspect The Rock God admired it and took it for his own personal collection. I still whine about it sometimes. If you find it let me know... :'(S

I've found more that I knew I lost ;D I finally made a large 'safe' place, a metal box screwed down to a shelf, everything passes thru it at some point...haven't lost a thing since and the sides are high enough that nothing can crawl out. I used to put things in my pocket till I had to replace a broken impeller in the washing machine..bright side was I found the rock that caused it and it wasn't mine!! Dr Joe .
