Well I haven't posted any cabs in a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been cabbing. I've been trying to figure out how to take better pictures but they just keep getting worse. These were taken with the photo tent that Amber bought. I like the idea but it just doesn't work with cabs, too much reflection from the brightly lit sides.
Vesuvanite. This material comes from California and is much greener than the photo shows. I'm not sure I like the shape but that's what I get for experimenting. lol
Unknown agate. I got this in the PIF box I won from Woodyrock. This was from a small piece but man o man is it beautiful. The photo doesn't even come close to doing it justice. Shape is just so so.
Another unknown from Woody. This chunk was covered in quartz crystals so I left them on the cab. I like the tooth effect of the crystals growing down into the agate. It was difficult to cab since the quartz was much softer than the agate.
Backlit.
Rhodochrosite. I got this from Amber. She was feeling bad that I gave her my really gemmy cab of this. Of course once she saw this she wanted it back. lol So it will be hers.
Rainbow obsidian from Davis Creek CA. This one is really purple but its impossible to photo. The darn tent was giving me so much reflection. Even this pic stinks. Sorry for the lint.
Polish flint. This is a smaller version of one Amber made for herself. I'll make this one into a necklace for me.
Mexican opal. This one has tons of fire but it doesn't show in the photo. The piece was very very pitty and I had to use copious amounts of super glue to get an even dome.
Lapis. Got this from Amber. She got quite a good deal on some.
Local material. Not a cab but a polished window on a rough rock. It looks much nicer in person. Looks to be quartz and mica.
That's the first part. I'll post more later today or this weekend. Thanks for looking.
